THE MANAGEMENT

Gestation: after mating, pregnancy occurs but, in the cat, an early diagnosis is not possible. The increase in abdominal volume is clearly noticeable only in advanced gestation, such as the elongation of the breasts, which become turgid.

In primiparas (cats giving birth for the first time) we can understand if the cat is actually pregnant after the 35th day. After the 50th day the breasts become hypertrophic (increase in volume).

In pluriparous (cats that have given birth several times) this evolution is less marked and mammary hypertrophy is more delayed

Gestation: about two months (63-66 days)
