Now our 4-legged friends have become part of our family. The market has a lot of interest in satisfying the needs of new families where the dog and cat have a place of enormous importance in our homes.

Ikea, always attentive to new trends and new markets, dedicates a new line to pets called Lurvig, which in Swedish means “shaggy, bristly”, just like the hair of our dog and cat.

The line is currently on sale in select stores in the United States, Canada and Japan, but will soon be available worldwide starting spring 2018.

The Ikea challenge is to provide new families with a comfortable, practical and design environment with which to live in perfect harmony with their four-legged friends. We will be able to choose mini sofas, bookcases, scratching posts, kennels, games and bowls to furnish our homes and have a perfect cat (or dog) proof home!
